For those of you who aren’t familiar with Future People, let me back up a bit. Matt and Steve, the owners of the brand, have created the most adorable children’s clothing company that not only fosters a space where education is cool, but they educate parents about foundational experiences that have a long-lasting impact on their child’s future and help to feed and educate refugee children.

5 Ways We’re Prioritizing Our Marriage This Spring

April 3, 2018

This post was sponsored by Zappos.

If I’m being totally honest Zack and I have had a difficult time prioritizing our marriage since the high of moving back home has worn off. Our schedules are tight and between caring for Owen, balancing work, Zack’s stand up comedy, friends, and alone time it’s been difficult to wedge time in for our marriage. As someone who’s love language is quality time this can be incredibly challenging and this past weekend it all came to a head. Having this realization was definitely hard, but I’m grateful, because it forced us to sit down and make some changes.

Winter Capsule Wardrobe + A Last Minute Holiday Wish List

December 12, 2017

Traveling this summer not only required that we slimmed down our wardrobes dramatically, but based on the places we visited, we were always chasing summer and always wearing warm weather clothing. Meaning we’re starting completely from scratch with winter gear (exciting but scary).

Packing Simply for Indefinite Travel for Both Mom and Baby

July 5, 2017

I really thought I had this whole capsule wardrobe thing figured out when we left NYC for our new life of indefinite travel, but like most things, I’m learning as I go.

How to Create a Simplistic Capsule Wardrobe You’ll Love

May 25, 2017

I shared my capsule travel wardrobe a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to dive a little deeper and explain how I prepared, why I chose the items I did, my ideas for keeping things fresh, and how you can create a capsule wardrobe with twenty pieces (accessories included) that has everything you’ll need and want to wear!

Capsule Travel Wardrobe + Toddler Essentials

May 6, 2017

When we decided to leave NYC and travel indefinitely we knew we needed to pack light. Anyone who has traveled with a toddler knows how much gear can be involved and we really wanted to limit that as much of that as humanly possible. Everything we brought with we were able to carry on. We did this for two reasons. One, getting in and out of the airport as quickly as possible is always our goal as a family. Two, for a lot of the international budget airlines you’re super limited as to what you can carry on and prices begin to skyrocket if you start checking baggage. So we decided to keep things real, real simple. The only piece of baby gear we ended up bringing is our Babyzen YOYO+ stroller. It folds up small enough that you can carry it on the plane (yes, that means no gate checks), is super narrow making it ultra easy to get around Paris and Owen has been ultra comfy taking stroller naps and exploring our new home. In a nutshell, it’s been perfect. Aside from baby gear, I’ve received plenty of questions about exactly what we decided to keep and bring along for this adventure. Below you will find images, more information and links to my capsule travel wardrobe, Owen’s wardrobe and the essentials we brought along for this toddler of ours! It took some strong will for all of us to get rid of the items we didn’t need for our travels, but it was an incredibly liberating and cleansing experience to let 99% of our belongings go. What items do you have now that you can’t imagine living without?

Three Bras, Three Uniforms

March 1, 2017

These days I feel like I rotate between three outfits (or something very similar): low-rise jeans and a button down, high-waisted jeans and a tee and high-waisted wide-leg pants and crop sweaters. Honestly, it’s this on repeat, but I’m not mad about it. These are three outfits I feel comfortable, fashionable and physically able to chase Owen around in. That being said, I think every woman has experienced what it’s like to not have the right bra for the right outfit. Whether it’s an embellished bra with a fitted tee, no underwire when underwire is necessary, straps when you need strapless or a dark color when you’re looking for something closer to your skin tone to pair with a light top we’ve all been there. Undergarments, especially for moms on the go, make a huge difference in the way clothes look and fit, and more importantly, they make a huge difference in how you feel in what you’re wearing. By starting your day with dressing yourself in something you feel confident in you’re setting yourself for other small acts of self-care and I’m not sure about you guys, but every little bit helps over here. I’ve found that having options when it comes to bras has been key. Learn more about how Thirdlove‘s vast selection of bras has helped me feel confident from the inside out.
