Bossladies Magazine

March 17, 2017

I’ve been following along with Bossladies Magazine for some time, and I’m honored to share with you that I’m being featured today over on their blog. For those of you who are new to Bossladies you’ve got to take the time to check them out. They’re a print and digital magazine that publishes twice a year: once in May and once in November. Each issue is focused around a particular city, and they share the stories of some of their favorite women who are building beautiful and impactful businesses within that city. These are women that profoundly inspire their entrepreneurial journey, and they hope that they do the same for you.

10 Blogs I Follow and Why

Last weekend Amy Hanen and a group of creatives headed north to Woodstock, NY for a photography retreat they put together. My best pal, Leah, and I joined to bake, cook and serve these talented women in the most gorgeous kitchen (I can’t wait to share photos of it all). It was such a treat to get out of the city, meet some new ladies, assist and really see Leah really shine in the kitchen. After one of our meals we were all sitting around the table and the topic of my blog came up. We chatted about blogging in general and they asked which blogs that I follow. We had such a fun conversation about it all that I figured I would share some of it here with you. I’m always looking for new blogs to support and read along with so I’d love for you to share your favorites in the comments below!

Tips for Making Your Taxes Stress-Free (for Self-Employed Folks!)

February 28, 2017

I’ve always dreaded taxes in my path to self-employment, but by nature I’m highly organized and a bit of a control freak so my gut told me I would figure it out for myself. I’ve honestly used TurboTax every year since I was sixteen and I’ve never hired an accountant or even truly considered it. As I made the transition from being an employee to being self-employed my friends and family hinted that things would need to change for me. I kept doing my thing, let the inevitable stress creep in, and then went ahead and didn’t take their advice, and guess what guys? I survived! For those of you who are on a budget, just getting started with your businesses and are looking to get your maximum deductions possible I’ve put together tips for a stress-free tax season. If you’ve found any tricks along the way that I haven’t, I’d love to hear them. Please leave them in the comments below, because like most areas in life, it takes a village and we’ve all got to help each other! Here’s what I’ve learned.
