If you’re an avid listener to either Building Household with Hailey & Amy or Mom and Dad Made a Podcast you know we skipped releasing episodes last week. Sorry guys! We ended up making our way to Rhode Island last Monday to meet and snuggle two of our friend’s newborn baby, introduce Owen to some of Zack’s extended family and eat all the traditional New England foods we could. Needless to say it was a much needed little getaway and a chance to breath in some fresh air in the midst of what feels like a crazy and busy time for us. Regardless of our hectic days, I’m feeling extra grateful that our schedules allow us the flexibility to do trips like this.

If I’m being totally honest Zack and I have had a difficult time prioritizing our marriage since the high of moving back home has worn off. Our schedules are tight and between caring for Owen, balancing work, Zack’s stand up comedy, friends, and alone time it’s been difficult to wedge time in for our marriage. As someone who’s love language is quality time this can be incredibly challenging and this past weekend it all came to a head.
