Jalapeño-Kiwi-Cucumber Gin Fizz: The Summer Cocktail You Need to Try

If you listened to last week’s episode of Building Household with Hailey & Amy or caught my five affordable summer date ideas, you can probably tell we’ve been functioning on quite the budget these days. It seems like everyone in my circle is, and we’ve all been doing what we can to spend more time hosting each other at home rather than going out when it comes to meals and drinks.

You see, in NYC a cocktail nearly anywhere is at least $15 so we’ve been having fun getting creative in our own kitchen. I’ve been obsessed with kombucha for years and was so happy to come across the Health-ade line a few months ago. All of their flavors are delicious, but I’m especially into their Jalapeño-Kiwi-Cucumber (which is BRAND NEW!). Health-Ade really focuses on the quality of their kombucha by brewing it in small glass batches and bottling it fresh so that when you drink it, you get a true, authentic kombucha experience.

Since gin cocktails tend to be my go-to in the summer I thought I would incorporate kombucha rather than soda water and juice and put my own twist on a gin fizz. Snag the recipe below!



  • Make your honey syrup by combining equal parts honey and hot water and stirring until you reach a syrup like consistency. Make enough to accommodate however many cocktails you’re making or save for later use.
  • In a cocktail shaker combine your gin, honey syrup and egg white.
  • Shake for about 30 seconds without ice.
  • Add 3-4 ice cubes and shake again until your shaker is cold to the touch.
  • Strain into your desired glass and top off with kombucha (about 2oz.).
  • Garnish with a cucumber or jalapeño slice and enjoy!
