My Skincare Journey & A Way To Give Back To Our Oceans

November 15, 2018

This post was sponsored by Kate Somerville.

Although I’ve always had relatively sensitive skin, growing up I was really fortunate to have very few challenges. That being said, as I’ve gotten older plenty of issues have made their way to the surface. Prior to expecting I was diagnosed with eczema, I experienced pretty intense acne that affected my face, back and chest during my pregnancy with Owen and I even visited a dermatologist after he was born who informed me I had both psoriasis and vitiligo. Most of these skincare issues are common in plenty of mother’s journeys’, but I remember how self conscious I used to feel about my skin when it all started happening.

With so many hormonal and lifestyle changes over the last few years I’ve been on the quest to rebuild confidence and find the perfect acne treatment for the times where my skin is really acting up. To be totally honest, most acne treatment lines I’ve tried in the past have only made my acne worse because they were just too harsh. Kate Somerville is the first line that has actually helped my acne and cleared up problem areas.

This three step routine is super easy to stay on top of (I’m admittedly probably the lowest maintenance when it comes to beauty / skincare products so you can trust me on that). Not only is this line a great reactionary treatment, but if used correctly and proactively, it can help reduce and prevent blemishes, unclog pores, balance oily skin, and minimize appearance of pores.

Read through to snag my favorite three Kate Somerville products and when you make a purchase from their site, 25% of your payment will be donated to Plastic Oceans Foundation. If you’re unfamiliar, they’re an organization that works hard to inform the public about our ever growing plastic pollution issue, they inspire people to care about the issue and encourage them to be part of the solution and incite action on real solutions that will shift the global reliance on plastic.

1. EradiKate® Daily Foaming Cleanser : “Medicated, foaming acne cleanser that contains 3% Sulfur to help reduce and prevent blemishes, unclog pores, balance oily skin, and minimize appearance of pores. See visibly clearer skin with continued use.”

2. EradiKate® Acne Treatment : “An effective acne treatment specifically formulated with the highest level of Sulfur allowed to fight pimples, zits, blemishes and future breakouts.”

3. Oil Free Moisturizer: An oil-free daily moisturizer that absorbs quickly to provide perfectly balanced hydration and moisturization.”

What’s your go to skincare line for acne? Did you experience any of these same skin issues after getting pregnant?
