Where to Stay in Berlin: A Complete, Reliable Review of What You Need to Know

July 3, 2017

We’re currently on our way to Croatia, but parents! Parents…are you listening? Go to Berlin! This is the place to travel to with your kids if you’re feeling nervous about the whole thing.

A Few Reasons Why

There are countless parks, delicious restaurants and wait for it… you can drink in the street.

That means you can always take your little ones for a long walk in the stroller with a beer in hand – no judgement here. It’s basically a dream land for parents. We even found a restaurant that had it’s patio opened to a public park and sandbox so that Owen could play while we sat down and enjoyed ourselves. It still doesn’t feel real. Why doesn’t this stuff exist in the United States?

Prenzlauer Berg

We stayed in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, right across the way from Mauerpark. Not only is this neighborhood is full of incredible food, but being so close to the park has been a total lifesaver. My one complaint, which isn’t even really a complaint, the neighborhood is almost too good – we didn’t feel the need to do much exploring outside of it. Everything we wanted out of Berlin was right here within walking distance, but at the end of the day I’m considering that a win.

Rent Our Airbnb

The Airbnb was also such a change of pace from our place in Paris. We loved our spot there, but the open floor plan and minimal decor in our Berlin Airbnb was much more conducive to Owen. There wasn’t nearly as much artwork and expensive furniture to worry about, yet it was still incredible pleasing aesthetically. We cooked plenty of meals, did our laundry and made ourselves completely at home here. Our host was incredible from start to finish, he even helped me track down a package from Madewell (haha!). If you’re a couple or a small family I highly recommend checking out our little spot. You can rent it here!
