Ten Things for the Weekend : Road Trip Edition!

August 11, 2017

Since we just drove all through Iceland I thought it might be fun to position these links with a road trip spin. I’m always on the hunt for podcasts, audio books, new music, games and all the wonderful distractions for road trips and thought that there just might be some of you who are also planning an end of the summer vacation. Hope these come in handy!

1. A road trip mantra: “The best teacher is experience and not through someone’s distorted point of view” ― Jack Kerouac, On the Road

2. A clean comedy special that will make you belly laugh.

3. A short and impactful audiobook for parents.

4. A new album. Yes, late April still counts as new to me.

5. Our favorite road trip game is would you rather. You can buy the cards if you want OR you can get creative and think up your own ideas.

6. A podcast for the kids. I just subscribed. I’m pretty sure there are videos too, but you can stick to the audio to avoid screen time / motion sickness.

7. If you’re driving through Iceland you’ve gotta listen to this.

8. A podcast that will spark conversation. I like to keep things light while traveling, but Zack and I had a couple really great conversations about this one.

9. The best sing-a-long decade playlist (if you ask me).

10. Start a new podcast and binge. Some of these you’ll need to wear headphones if you’re traveling with kiddos. My favorites right now are: How I Built This, You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes, Women Wanting More, Munchin’ with Moguls (you can listen to my guest episode here), Mom and Dad Made a Podcast (had to ;)).
