Ten Things for the Weekend

July 7, 2017

We made it! We’re here in beautiful Croatia. I’ve been a little behind here on the blog because Owen might have spilt water on Zack’s laptop, completely frying it and leaving us with one computer between the two of us. We’re trying our best to see the positive. There’s not a whole lot we can do about it while we’re on the island so that means we are having to rework our schedule a bit and are each soaking up as much time with Owen as possible while the other one works. Plus, we’re taking a moment to really soak up this island. It’s a dream.

So here are this week’s ten things for the weekend (a day late). As always, I’d love to hear what you’ve been into this week!

1. This week’s mantra: “It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up.” – Eckhart Tolle

2. I’ve been obsessed with the podcast Munchin With Moguls. Most of the episodes highlight boss ladies who are building their businesses through blogging and social media so if that’s something you’re interested in you should absolutely listen!

3. I just started reading Rising Strong by Brene Brown. 60 pages in and I’m already hooked and sad for it to be over!

4. My friend Ana, just launched her YouTube channel! Go take a peek and subscribe for videos on style, travel and honest thoughts on motherhood in Brooklyn.

5. This article helped me understand so much more about foster care and what we can all do to help.

6. So happy I found @chelseakauai on instagram. Talk about the most GORGEOUS travel photos!

7. Real talk about travel: this week I am totally missing my friends and family! It’s really difficult to not have anyone to just grab a coffee with, plus the time zone has even made it extra tricky for just texting or phone calls. But, I’m practicing gratitude and I know this won’t be a forever thing. I realize there are countless things to be grateful for – for starters that I even have friends and family to miss, but I never want to give the illusion that this travel business is a fairytale! I certainly have my hard days.

8. I’ve been pretty basic with my cooking since we’ve been traveling, but I want to start to try some new recipes. How delicious do these pancakes look?

9. For those of you who have been to Iceland, what spot was your absolute favorite?! I’m really looking forward to this.

10. So I just packed one suit with us, that I love, but I’ve totally been this clementine one piece from Albion Fit! Eeeek. Might have to squeeze it in the suitcase.
