Ten Things for the Weekened

October 6, 2017

1. This week’s mantra: “There are at least a million ways to be a great mother, and not one of them hinges on breastfeeding or any of the other hot-button issues. Great mothers know that they are worthy of love and belonging, and as a result they raise children who know they are worthy of the same things. Shaming other mothers is not one of the million ways to be a great mom.” – Brené Brown

2. My good friend Nicki was a guest on the Talking in Circles podcast last week. She shares insight into her struggles with postpartum depression and finding beauty in the darkness. Listen here.

3. Wondering what you can do to help the victims in Las Vegas? Learn more here.

4. If your kids are old enough to understand, I think it’s important to talk to them about Las Vegas in an age appropriate way. If you need a little guidance on how to do so this article is super helpful.

5. Curb Your Enthusiasm is back on – did anyone else watch last weekend?!

6. Chrissy (one of my favorite bloggers, Instagrammers and pals) was on the Munchin with Moguls podcast this week. Make sure to give it a listen!

7. This week I made it a goal to exercise 3 times and not only did I do it, but it only cost me $10 (for a drop in community yoga class this morning). If you’re trying to workout on a budget check out this post for some free ideas!

8. Leah (@punch.pastry) and I are getting ready to start our #betweentwokitchens series up again! Are your favorite recipes here sweet or savory? We want to know!

9. Eyeing this jacket for fall, but I need to find a MUCH more affordable option. Have you guys seen any high quality leather jackets this season that won’t break the bank?

10. Remember Amy & Megan from their studio tour? These ladies just launched a podcast, today! Download, listen & subscribe.

  • Oh goodness to number 1! Breastfeeding was such a challenge for me and ultimately I stopped before I wanted to. It’s still the number one thing I beat myself up over. Why do we mother’s do this to ourselves!?

Curb has been so great! Just what I need on a Sunday night

Love this little corner of the internet you’ve created, Hailey!

    • Awh, Suzie! We all do this as mothers and I can’t stand for anyone who would shame another mother who’s honestly doing her best. Thank you so much for following along here. And how good was the second episode last weekend?!
