Ten Things for the Weekend

August 10, 2018

1. This week’s mantra: “When our sisters are vulnerable, when they are giving birth to new life, new ideas, new ministries, new spaces, when they are under attack, when they need their people to surround them so they can create, deliver, heal, recover…we get in formation. We close ranks and literally have each others’ backs. You want to mess with our sis? Come through us first. Good luck.”

2. Loved hearing all your indoor summer activities for kiddos on this post.

3. I cannot put down The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.

4. It was so reassuring to talk to you guys about balance this week. If you’re struggling with juggling it all, you are not alone. Read these comments.

5. My friend Sam, who was on a guest episode of Building Household with Hailey & Amy, just started her own podcast called You Did It! Check it out.

6. While this doesn’t reflect my personal experience, I really enjoyed reading this mamas perspective on making mom friends and the challenges she’s faced on Mother Mag. I certainly know she’s not alone in this and if you’ve had a challenging time finding your mama tribe you should absolutely read it.

7. “To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real. Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.”Beyonce in Vogue’s September Issue (a must read).

8. I ended up making this pasta dish from the round up I shared last week and it was seriously SO easy and delicious. I subbed gnocchi instead and left out the artichokes. Perfect end of the summer meal.

9. For anyone who is going through a divorce: Nine Women Talk About Their Divorces on Cup of Jo.

10. A few washes of my favorite jeans (Levis, wedgie fit) are on sale.
