  • Hi Hailey! Very interesting article about “wine mums”- for me I think it’s an important perspective for every mum out there to keep in mind in order to not go too far from what we really need a glass of wine for- relaxation, some time to ourselves, and retreat, yes, not escape!!!, and live a little. Meditation or other “perfectly healthy” self-care efforts are to me no better than a simple glass of wine, because if we have to also tell ourselves that we need to choose “the most healthy solution” for a little retreat, chance is that we’re gonna end up more likely to become depressed and not as happy a mum as if we’d sip some wine and tell ourselves that we deserve the treat.

    • I completely agree! I always enjoyed a beer or a glass of wine before I became a mom, so for me it’s no different. I think where it can be potentially dangerous is if it was never something you enjoyed previously and you’re turning to it as an escape or taking drinking to an extreme, if that makes sense. I think everything in healthy moderation is well deserved!
