Ten Things for the Weekend

September 8, 2017

1. This week’s mantra: “The most powerful way to change the world is to live our lives in front of our children the way we would like the world to be.” ― Iben Dissing Sandahl

2. I shared a few podcast episodes I was particularly inspired by in my Instagram stories on Monday this week – is that something you guys would be into me doing regularly? Here are the episodes in case you missed them. 1. Munchin’ with Moguls with Fawn Design, 2. Girl Boss Radio with Gwyneth Paltrow & 3. How I Built This with Aden + Anais.

3. Curious how you can help the community recover from Hurricane Harvey? Visit the United Way Relief Fund to learn more and donate.

4. As a family of three I really loved reading this article about one having one child.

5. Zack and I started watching Love on Netflix and are (you guessed it) loving it. The first episode didn’t get us hooked right away, but we gave the second episode a try and I’m so glad we did.

6. My friend @msvaniarios just started a new series called #makeconnections with some other mamas. Make sure to keep an eye out for their posts!

7. We’re in NYC for the next couple weeks and then we’re off to Phoenix where we will be resting our heads for a few months. So excited to see our family and friends there and settle in a bit. Those of you with kids in Phoenix I need all your tips – restaurants, parks, museums, etc.

8. Really wanting to do some fine tuning on my eating habits once we’re back in Phoenix. Have you guys ever read Micheal Pollan’s Food Rules? Here’s an article with some of the rules, but this book is my go to for simple answers on healthy eating.

9. Do you guys have any home boards you particularly love following on Pinterest? Here are a few of my friends who have such a great eye – Lindsay, Bethany & Allison.

10. I’m wrapping up The Gifts of Imperfection and I’m realizing as I write this that I just have Brene’s first book and her one that’s available for pre-order left and that’s it. It’s been the summer of Brene Brown for me and I’ve loved every single book so much. I’m going to be so sad once I’m through them all, but I couldn’t recommend them more.
