Living Room Reveal: A Minimal, Cozy Space Full of Greenery

February 8, 2018

Tomorrow marks four weeks since we first set foot in our new apartment, an apartment we only face-timed once before signing our lease, handing over our deposits and picking up our keys. I have to admit as we walked through the lobby and rode the elevator up we were slightly nervous. Our building is pre-war and certainly has that old New York charm, but when we opened our front door it was clear we were home.

Our space in Brooklyn is perfect for our family of three and puppy (who will be joining us here next month). If you’ve been following along for awhile you know I have been dreaming about just how our space would come together, what furniture we would purchase and the decor we would fill our walls with these last few months.

For our family, it made sense for us to put the majority of our attention into our living room first and foremost. Much like our decision to jump on our apartment before seeing it in person, we selected our first piece of furniture without question; a sofa from Campaign. I had stalked Campaign’s Instagram feed for sometime and knew that I had to have their sprouted green sofa as the centerpiece of our living room. If you can’t tell from the photos here, creating a minimal, cozy space filled of greenery was one of my top priorities and I am so proud of the way it all came together in such a short amount of time.

Considering we started from scratch with belongings after our travels last year, it was important to us to truly love each and every piece of furniture and even every small piece of decor that we brought into our home. Hence the plants, baskets and boxes on our shelves rather than books or artwork. We just didn’t want to rush ourselves to fill the space. The objects you see here were the more affordable option and can easily be moved around our apartment as we accumulate new, meaningful things.

It goes without saying that our sofa from Campaign fit the “truly love it” bill instantly which makes it meaningful to our family and the memories we will create in our living room. To be totally honest we were surprised after we assembled the sofa (in under 20 minutes) just how comfortable it truly is. In the past it always felt like we either compromised design or style when selecting a couch, but with Campaign I feel like they have flawlessly married the two. Plus their mission is to create furniture that moves easily and lasts a lifetime. They believe that home is where you make it. Enough said.

Campaign carries three thoughtfully designed furniture pieces on their site; a chair, a love-seat and a sofa offered in a variety of colors to best fit your space. They have numerous outposts throughout the United States and offer free, fast shipping on all orders. Campaign even makes removable covers, which is such great reassurance with a little one running around. Plus they even sell individual cover kits, so if anything happens or you’d just like to change your color down the line, you can do so without having to purchase a new sofa. If you’ve been on the hunt for the perfect sofa look no further. The folks over at Campaign have been generous enough to offer you guys $50 off any order with them when you use the code CAMPAIGNHA.

Keep an eye out for more room reveals as we put our new home together. I cannot wait to share our space with you guys!

  • I love the room. Where is that shelving unit from?

    • Thank you so much! So it’s actually three separate book cases we placed side by side from Target – their project 62 line!

  • Love how it came together! Very chic and purposeful. I didn’t see a television – is that to come later or do you guys not do tv?! Just curious.

    • Thank you so much! We had a TV in our last place, but after traveling internationally and not having a TV at any of our Airbnb’s we got used to just using our computers and decided we would stick with it in our new spot. We still definitely watch TV (Netflix, Hulu and what not on our computers), but it’s much more intentional and limited without the reminder constantly out in our living room (for us at least)!
