Ten Things for the Weekend

February 9, 2018

1. This week’s mantra: “The trick is keep the truth upfront in daily consciousness.” -David Foster Wallace

2. Really enjoyed listening to Mark Duplass on You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes.

3. My pal Amy shared this article with me. I would love to hear your thoughts if you have time to read it. These words really stuck with me. “Ultimately, having an experience becomes identical with taking a photograph of it, and participating in a public event comes more and more to be equivalent to looking at it in photographed form. That most logical of nineteenth-century aesthetes, Mallarm√©, said that everything in the world exists in order to end in a book. Today everything exists to end in a photograph.”

4. Zack and I are planning for our first night out since we landed in NYC in honor of Valentine’s Day next week! We’re planning to grab dinner somewhere and we have tickets to see John Mulaney. Any new places in Manhattan we need to try?!

5. We officially have our mattress! We’ve been waiting for our top choice to arrive and now we can officially get moving on putting our bedroom together. Any artists, shops or brands you guys would suggest for simple bedroom decor? This is the kind of vibe we’re going for.

6. Loved this poached egg tutorial from Jill Fergus on The Feed Feed’s Instagram stories.

7. I’m not the best at doing gift roundups, but Mother Mag put together great guide. Better than chocolate: for gifts for your valentine.

8. My friend Megan and her studio mates are hosting a studio warming party (they just moved into a dreamy new space). If you’re in the NYC area make sure to swing by for some amazing deals on artwork, textiles and leather goods. For more information on the event click here.

9. Have you guys heard that Instagram just released a feature that will allow businesses to automatically post? My gut reaction is that this isn’t a positive, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

10. Make sure to take $50 off your next order with Campaign when you use the code CAMPAIGNHA!
